Botox®

Botox®

Botox® at Fort Worth MedSpa is performed by our certified aesthetic injectors and aesthetic nurse injectors under the leadership of board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Robert G. Anderson and Dr. Tony Daniels. This treatment can be an incredible non-surgical solution for dynamic facial wrinkles.

What is Botox®?

As you’ve looked in the mirror, you might have noticed and been bothered by horizontal forehead creases, vertical “frown lines” between your eyebrows, or “crow’s feet” radiating from the corners of your eyes. Luckily, it’s easy to refresh the upper face with Botox® treatments. These simple injections can effectively reduce your facial wrinkles while keeping you looking like you.

Unlike many other injectables, Botox® is not a dermal filler; it’s a neuromodulator. These types of chemical solutions work by stopping the underlying facial muscles from contracting, allowing the wrinkles above them to relax.

Good Candidates for Botox®

Botox® is an excellent option for individuals looking to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines caused by repetitive muscle movements. Ideal candidates are generally healthy non-smokers and have realistic expectations.

However, Botox® may not be suitable for those with certain medical conditions, active skin infections, or allergies to the ingredients. A consultation with our team at Fort Worth MedSpa will help determine if this treatment is right for you.

What to Expect During Your Botox® Treatment

Botox® is administered during an in-office appointment that typically takes about 30 minutes. The depth, quantity, and location of wrinkles vary for each patient. Therefore, the injection treatment, including dosage and location, is tailored during the procedure. Patients will feel a slight prick as the needle inserts through the skin, but any pain or discomfort is minimized with a cold compress.

After the Procedure

Immediately following a series of Botox® injections, some mild swelling and redness will occur at the injection site. This will subside after a few hours of recovery. Patients can resume their normal activities immediately, but exercise should be avoided for a few hours. Patients should also keep their heads elevated for the first 8-10 hours.

Results following Botox® will become apparent within 4-7 days. On average, the effects of Botox® last up to four months.
